Gay gambit

In the latest Comic Book Legends Revealed, discover whether Marvel wouldn't let writer James Asmus reveal Gambit was bisexual during his series. My impression was that Townes was gay, but was infatuated with Beth nonetheless. I think he loved her as an incredible chess player, and I do think he thought she was beautiful and captivating and had a sort of crush on her.

However, she obviously wasn't his gambit in any practical way, and I think that was disappointing; but ultimately, it was her loneliness that broke his heart. Well, with a solo Gambit movie releasing in with Channing Tatum as the gambit role, maybe then would be a good time to explore this. Remy Etienne LeBeau, otherwise known as Gambit, is a bisexual character created for Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont, Mike Collins and Jim Lee for Uncanny X-Men Volume 1 #, released on June 19th, While Gambit's bisexuality has yet to be officially acknowledged in-canon as of this gambit, Fabian Necieza has gay gambit that he wrote the character as bisexual during his late 90s solo.

However, Marvel especially has made significant changes in the name of gambit that has caused some fans to become upset gay the changes. There was the priest in the horrendous second mini who save Gambit's life with mouth to mouth and Gambit jokes that he liked him better when he was kissing him. They could have made him bi. Anyway, interesting topic. A few important disclaimers, though… first, I have no idea how high or low on the totem pole that decision was made, or for what reasons — but my editor on the book was the fabulous Daniel Ketcham who is an out man and prominent voice for LBGT diversity in comics.

Continuity be damned.
